About YVONNE:

I am a graduate student enrolled at the Monterey Institute of International Studies Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Master's program. I am also pursuing a certificate in computer-assisted language learning. At the end of my Master's program, I plan to pursue a career as a full-time ESL and foreign language teacher. Currently, I hold a BA in International Relations and another Master's degree in Liberal Studies from an Ivy League school. I have a strong background in foreign languages, English, writing, and International Relations. Throughout my academic and professional careers, I tutored students in academic and thesis writing, reading, grammar, geography, international relations, and now ESL. To the student, my philosophy: I believe that teaching is a craft and that an effective teacher and/or tutor knows and understands how learning takes place and how to shape one's teaching to address the individual learner. I take teaching as a serious responsibility and would be honored to be your tutor. I have many years experience tutoring students from diverse backgrounds.
