About David:

Hey, my name is Nick. I'm British and have lived in the USA for 8 years. I live in Highland Village, I'm 22 years old and I'm a third year student studying at the University of Exeter in Great Britain. I'm currently doing a year abroad in Grenoble, France at Université Pierre Mendes-France. At my home university in Britain I study Accounting and Finance with French. In France I study Economics and Management in french. I have been learning french since the age of 10, and I have taken subsequent exams in it including the international baccalaureat, and internal exams at my home university and my university in France. Studying at Université Pierre Mendes-France, all of my classes are in french and I speak french with my classmates and friends. Living in France for the year I have an excellent working knowledge of the french language and french culture as I have been immersed in it everyday. I was a tutor at my home university in Great Britain, which has given me excellent experience in how to pass on my knowledge in such a way that my tutees relate, understand and enjoy the learning experience. I am one of four brothers which I feel also prepares me very well for relating to people and passing on knowledge to others. My teaching style is to discover first which areas of the language or culture the tutee really desires to learn about and then to focus on these areas in detail. I can prepare a tutee for any exams that might be coming up with grammar, comprehension, listening and writing lessons. Or simply I can act as someone just to practice speaking french with. I am a very easy going, understanding person but I also value hard work and persistence. I feel the best way for a tutee to get the most from learning is to learn about what interests them the most. The favorite part of the french language for me is finding ways of expressing oneself in french in the same way that one can in english. The only way to do that is either to be immersed in the french language or to speak to someone who can show you ways of expressing what you're able to say in english, in french. Et donc, voilà, c'est moi!
