About JUDITH:

Hi, I am an energetic, humorist individual who loves education and practical applications to learning styles that best meet the individual needs.
I believe each person learns a little differently than an other and that it is my job as an educator to find that style for each person/student that wants to improve himself/herself.
I am wiling to do whatever it takes to assist a student in any difficulty to fulfill his/her wants and needs to succeed in their studies and if desired to excel in their studies.
I am a true believer of "you can do anything you set yourself out to do that you want to do."
I am a living example of this.
I was a poor student in k-6 and then when I got into Junior High a neighbor took a liking to me and started working with me. Low and behold she said I was very intelligent(not like others who so me as mediocre)including my mother.
Well, I started going from low C's and D's to A's and B's and she fought for me to go into advanced classes!!!
In high school I ended up going to a private school which she helped me get into and then I went on believing in myself and my worth.
I went into the Navy during the VietNam War and got a fantastic job at the Pentagon in Intelligence. After I came out I started college. I went Bridgewater State College for teachers(at the time). In my junior year I was selected out of 900 students to be involved in a special student teacher program where we took over the whole 3rd and 4th grade of a school and redesigned the curriculum and taught as a team of 5 of us under our supervisor. What an experience! We also were invited to many area state education depts. to lecture and explain our approach to learning.
I taught after graduation for awhile and then went back to get my Master's degree in Education with a double degree in Theology at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. I was a year in and pondered a degree in psychology so after graduation I went back and received another MA in Clinical Psychology.
I then worked with children and adults with severe and persistent mentally ill clients and taught many psychology classes in support groups.
I have always been a "LIFER" for those who want to learn and also those who want to excel.
Now I am at an age where life has slowed down a bit but I would like to bring to others my gifts and talents and experience and education full circle.
I believe of living in the present moment and whatever that brings.
I also believe like I said before that humor is an important part of learning and living
So, I hope this little bit has helped hear or learn a little about me and my style of teaching.

More On JUDITH's Subjects:

  • Bible studies

I currently have a Master's in Pastoral Ministry from Emmanual College in Boston, MA. I was involved in Parish Scripture Programs and was on an Advisory Board for International Religions and Prayer Styles. I have run Bible Study Groups in various areas as: "Women in Scripure," Prophets of the Old Testament etc. Also how to apply scripture readings to everday life in the 20th Century and the 21 Century. I have used multi-media as a varied approach to many of the more complex readings in scirpture. I had the priledge of also being trained in Scripture during my summers at St. Michael's School of Theology and trained under International and Published Scholars who have interpreted and translated much in scripture after geological findings.

  • elementary (k-6th)

I have taught all subjects within my classroom for over 9 years. I was nominated "Teacher of the Year," out of over a 1000 submitted from all over the country and published in a teacher's journal. I always felt it important to indivualize each of my student's work accoring to their needs and not the norm for all. I have good organizational skills, time management, good intuition which I feel is an asset in the classroom. Do t my own study difficultes when I was very young I made it a goal to remember to be patient, calm and caring with a child whether they are super smart or slow and need a lot of help. I'm child focused and not time focused. I have tutored recently p/t with a second grader and sophomore getting them ready for their grade level tests CRCT, and AP History and AP Biology. Both students have done well from failing test grades to 95 scores recently and within a short time of tutoring. The parents were estatic at their child's quick inprovement. I am very flexible and will find the answer when I don't initially know it.

  • GED

Since I maintain a M.Ed. and have been certified in several states as a Coordinator at Urban Leagues in R.I. and NJ would I not be marked as "certified," on my subject list?

  • phonics

Since having "BOTH" BS in ED and an M.Ed and certified shouldn't I be approved to tutor in there area I selected? Having a M.Div. wouldn't that also quality me to tutor in theology and /or religion? I spealized for 14 years in special needs, language arts, reading, creative writng and math-wouldn't this include phonics which is the basis for begining reading in primary grades in which I taught? I was a professional photographer after getting a "minor in it with my education for my BS in ED. so does this qualify me to tutor and I have so many times before in High Schools and Junior High's? I also was trained at our high school to teach Driver's Ed. which I am privately doing now with much success for older adults who need private instruction-out four I have had here in Marietta all four received their license within 2 weeks to a month. I had a second grader this past summer who could not read nor print on a pre primary level and was passed to second grade. In one month, 3x a week he could print so well his Dad could not tell the difference between his own and his son's and while Dad was on his computer working and flew out of his office one day and said,"was that my son reading?" I said yes with pride and his child gleamed with joy. Dad could not believe his son was passed into second grade without being corrected in his horrendous attempt to printing and poor lack of background in using phonics to pronounce new words never mind basic words he should have learned way back. I feel I should be wavered in many of the areas I am willing to tutor in. Respectfully, Judith P. Mucci MAC, M.Ed., M.Div.

  • photography

I maintain a Minor in Graduate School from Mass College of Art in Advanced PHOTOGRAPHY.To be encouraging to interested potential students I feel it would be benifical to say I am "certified."

  • soccer

I have been certified to teach coaches being trained at Bridgewater State College in Massachusets. I established what is still now called "The Coastal League (for over 7 yrs.) and was publishe weekly in the local newspapers dialogging with a collegue on the "Social Pressures of sports for young children," and "The stressors of "teen" competition in sports.
