Hello, I have completed the course requirements for my High School teaching license at NCSU's NC TEACHing program. Teaching will be an encore career after working at IBM for 27 years. I have the superb knowledge of science with a PhD in Chemistry, 18 years as an analytical chemist and successfully completing courses in Biology and Geology needed for my teaching license.
Currently, I am a Wake County Public School substitute teacher. I have completed five long-term substitute assignments at Sanderson and Wakefield High Schools in Honors Chemistry, Chemistry, Honors Biology, Physical Science, Earth Science, Astronomy and Marine Biology. I have completed numerous daily substitute assignments as well. I have also tutored students in College Introduction to chemistry, College Organic Chemistry, High School Honors and AP chemistry with good results.
So maturity, knowledge and desire to teach are the key attributes I can bring to tutoring. I want to understand what students don't understand so I can become a very effective science teacher.
