Hola, my name is Jenny and I love Spanish! I especially love speaking Spanish whenever I can. When I was younger, I had a nanny from Colombia who spoke Spanish around me, and I was able to absorb some of it early in life.
I studied Spanish in junior high and all four years of high school. I majored in Hispanic Studies at the University of Texas in Austin. I had the opportunity to study abroad in Chile during my senior year of college, where I lived with a Chilean host family and studied at la Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. I immersed myself in the Spanish language and the Chilean culture as much as possible, and I returned to the US fluent! Studying or travelling abroad is a great way to learn a language.
Apart from practicing Spanish, I enjoy learning more about my faith (Roman Catholicism), and participating in classes about it.
I also enjoy exercising daily, doing crossword puzzles and IQ tests, and listening to music (in Spanish and in English). You can also find me at a theatre enjoying a play!
