Learn More About Peter's Experience:
general computer
I bought my first computer in 1989, when operating a DOS operating system was quite challenging. I have since owned PCs of various Window editions. I fought the usual battles with my early PCs and use my modern PC in a versatile manner. I have found that both attending formal, accredited classes, and personal PC use, is the best way to learn about them. Using a PC is an experience as big as the world, with its innumerable possibilities. Students struggling with a Windows-PC environment are now going through the same challenges I have encountered before. I empathize with them, but have helpful ideas on how to maximize the experience of owning or using a computer.
grammar
As a former tutor in an accredited college, I have corrected many essays for excellent use of grammar. I have also helped students plans their essays so as to maximize the overall smooth flow and effectiveness of these essays, in conjunction with good use of grammar. I have helped many students, for whom English was not the language in their home. English is a difficult language to master, but I offer help to a growth process to improve the skills of these special people. English grammar is something in which I strive to perfect in my casual use of that language. Good grammar is most efficacious when used a daily habit in letters, emails, and talking with other people. It is truly a key to success when pursuing a career.
html
In 2003, I took a course on HTML at an accredited college, and was considered the best in the class by my instructor. I have since developed my own website, and maintain it, myself. I continue to learn more features of HTML, and to find other supportive books and sources of learning. I have the knowledge to pass on to a student to make a website from HTML, and to transfer it to a web server, so that the student can share his thoughts in his/her own website. Additionally, I created a website for a college library for that is in use today by the students there. I used many different features in this site which included many photos, and some javascript. I would welcome the opportunity to help students with their goals as a tutor.
music history
Since I was 11 years old, I have been listening to classical music. The furthest I go back is 1415 A.D. with the English composer John Dunstaple. My area of specialty is the Baroque era, circa 1600 to 1760. Also, I am familiar with the Viennese classical period, or the period of Haydn and Mozart. After listening to almost 50 years of good music, and afer taking two semesters of musical history in an accredited college, I have traveled far in my journey of music, and would like to guide students as they discover for themselves the world of great music. Also, I would like to guide these students as they discover what music means to them, and learn to develop their well based interpretations of what they are hearing. Music is part of everyday life, and we can always learn new things about our musical world around us.
powerpoint
I have taken two courses at accredited learning instutions on PowerPoint. I use my balanced left brain-right brain potentialities in creating and showing my Powerpoint projects. That is to say, I use creativiy, and artistry, as well as knowing the features and tools of PowerPoint. I have learned everything from timed showings, to finding even obscure graphics to add to Powerpoint. I have a certificate of completion of the latest course to back up that claim. It is truly a program for which I have a passion, and would look forward to sharing that with students.
