Learn More About Heather's Experience:

ESL/ESOL From 8/06 - 8/07 I taught ESL in Cheonan, S. Korea. I taught ages 4 - 16 in a private school owned nad run by a Korean. I learned a great deal about how to relate to each student and how better to deal with specific issues in English that are more difficult than others. I learned how to make the lessons fun and entertaining as well as educational as students don't generally like to study when they find the topic boring. I also found that when they were having fun or were excited, they understood what was being taught and therefore excelled. I also taught teenagers and adults in Romania for 4 months in 2004. This was my first real teaching situation and I learned a great deal that I have since built upon. I have also traveled to Russia where I participated in a study abroad program while in college. This too helped me learn how better to relate to those whose first language is not English.
