general computer The term "general computer" can be pretty general! So let's break it down: I am proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, excluding Microsoft Access. I know the Adobe software products: Dreamweaver, PhotoShop and Illustrator. I can't set up your shared server, but I can help you learn how to install software and hardware, set your scanner up for pictures or documents, or set up a blog! I have been working with computers and as the general go-to person for computer trouble for most of my adult life...8 years. html I despise table layouts and so can you! I am constantly steeped in XHTML and CSS. I am a professional web designer so I actually make a living off of these coding styles. Although, I will not claim to know everything. The web changes so much that you have to keep learning all the time. I can help students break down the components of each coding style and be able to create a complex site including using forms, graphics and styling. If I had to categorize myself, I would say that of "Beginner/Intermediate/Expert" I fall right smack dab in the middle. photoshop I use PhotoShop everyday of my life for optimizing web images, creating graphics for print and web media and retouching old photographs. I have been trained in school to use these programs but the real learning comes from using them and constantly learning new techniques. I am a professional designer so I am able to manipulate this program pretty well, including using a digital graphics tablet with it. powerpoint I use PowerPoint quite often in my role as an in-house designer for a small business firm to make presentations and slide handouts for marketing materials. I am proficient in all aspects of using PowerPoint from design, layout, graphics, importing tables from Excel, creating charts, using templates, timing the presentation and packing up the presentation for viewers. sewing Along with my digital design experience, I also create custom drapes and upholstery for a small creative home services business. I also make custom purses and other personal accessories. I haven't tackled clothes, but I can do a hem, sew on a button or fix a tear! I can offer basic sewing skills, creating your own patterns, customizing patterns and choosing appropriate fabrics for many different projects. web design I am a freelance web, graphic and print designer, operating under the name MK Digital Media. I use XHTML and CSS to code my sites in Dreamweaver. I know how to incorporate some more advanced code such as PHP and JavaScript, but am not as proficient in those codes. I can help students plan the site setup process, from gathering information to planning what the site will look like to implementing this look and required functionality.
