Every job I've ever had has been with kids. I was a birthday party host at Party Gym in Englishtown New Jersey all through High School. I then went on to tour the country with my band for a few years, while holding a job at MyGym in Manalapan, NJ. I worked as a teacher there, and taught classes in cognitive, and physical development. I have been teaching drum lessons for the past few years, and have just moved to Columbus Ohio where I now have a lot of students. Mostly all of my students have started from scratch, and in a short time have all become very good drummers, as well as musicians. From the first lesson, I have them playing beats, and am constantly keeping the fun in it from then on. Any instrument needs a lot of effort so I teach all the fundamentals right along side with the tricks, fun tips and advanced theory.
Since June of 07' I've been working at Mad Science (MadScience.org) where I travel to different schools and events to work with, and teach children science. I am at a different school every day teaching, and randomly all over Ohio for birthday parties, corporate events, etc.
From all the years working with kids and their parents I've taken on babysitting jobs as well as a lot of tutoring. I was always a great student. I scored a 1250 on my SATs and excelled in college but music and touring was my main focus then.
Somehow with all the music, science, and teaching I still have a lot of free time. It is my first time living on my own since I've been on tour and it's very exciting. I am looking for any opportunity and look forward to my future in tutoring. |
