 About Dulce:
I am an experienced tutor who loves teaching and helping others in their learning process. Since I was 12 years old I started helping elementary school kids with their English assignments and from there on I was hooked with teaching. I come from a family of teachers so it is kind in our blood to teach. I am originally mexican so I am a Spanish native speaker and I also have the training, qualifications and experience of an ESL teacher. I studied a Master's Degree in England and there I worked as a Spanish Teacher for elementary school children. In 2006 I worked as an English Teacher in a Catholic High School and I also worked with adults and companies. Once in the US, I started working as a recreational aide in a high school helping students with their assignments. At the moment I am working with hispanic students who are experiencing difficulties with their reading and writing skills but also I am teaching adults.

ESL/ESOL
I am originally mexican so my experience in teaching English as a second lenguage starts in Mexico City when I was 14 years old. I was studying in a catholic school back then and as a part of the school's curriculum you had to do some community work. I chose to help students from low income families to learn a new language. I thought that by teaching them English I was giving them some extra tools that would help them get out of the vicious cycle that poverty is. I spent 3 years working with them and I enjoyed each minute of it. From there I wanted to help more students improve their skills and abilities whether in English or Spanish. When I was 19 years old I took the certification to teach English in Mexico just because it was a family tradition, my mom and aunt are English teachers too. After finishing college, I decided to study a Master's degree in England, so I went over there and to pay for my expenses I taught Spanish to elementary school children and it was really interesting and rewarding. Going back to Mexico was hard because I realized how much I loved teaching so I finally got a job as an ESL teacher in a catholic high school. This was the best job I could ever ask for, I was actually helping these kids get into college and encouraging them to go for more. I guess this summarizes how it is that my journey as a Tutor-Teacher started.
grammar
Being an ESL Teacher for high school students required a lot of knowledge and expertise in the language. This high school wanted to be bi-lingual so students had on average around 8-9 hours of English classes a week. All those classes were divided in 3 main subjects: Reading and Writing workshop, English Usage (grammar) and Conversational English. English Usage was the core subject so that students would get the foundations to write and speak properly.
