About
Jennifer: |
Hello~ My name is Jen. I live in Antioch, IL, where I also went to high school. I obtained my AS degree in Science and EMT-B training from the College of Lake County. I obtained my BS degree in chemistry forensics from Carroll College in Waukesha, WI. I have also played softball (fast and slow pitch) since I was 8 years old, and am now coaching young children (6-10 years). I used to be a death investigator but have changed job roles, and have just recently obtained my substitute teaching certificate in Lake County, IL. I began tutoring over a year ago when a friend of mine came to me for help obtaining her masters in business management. My friend is severely dyslexic and needs help writing papers, so I gladly offered my services. I have helped her through numerous classes from ethics through master's level statistics. My friend inspired me to help others, and I very much enjoy tutoring her. I enjoy the one on one approach and will vary my tutoring style to whomever I tutor, everyone learns differently. My chemistry degree also gave me a great background in math (through calculus), biology, anatomy, physiology, and physics. I am a mother of 3 children (ages 9-4) and would love to help you or your child too. |

Jennifer's Experience:
anatomy
I helped conduct autopsies and body charts while working as a death investigator and am very comfortable with my knowledge of the human body. I also completed an anatomy class that involved studying different animals.
elementary (k-6th)
I have grammar school age children whom I help on a regular basis. I also coach softball for children of this age, and work well with them. I've helped my own children with tasks from learning to read, write, count, and tell time to multiplication/division and history.
physiology
Due to my medical background as a death investigator and education in anatomy and physiology I would be comfortable and helpful tutoring in this field.
statistics
I am comfortable in statistics as they are required to analyze data in chemistry reports and experiments. I also conducted the office statistics for the Lake County Coroner's Office for 2005, 2006, and most of 2007. You can look up the results of my work if you would like, they're posted on the coroner's website. I used MS Excel to help me, and am comfortable teaching and using Excel.
