About Sarah:

I will be home for Summer 2008 (May to July, some of August negotiable) and I would love to tutor you during that time.

I have 4 years of tutoring experience with over a dozen different students. Each of them has made significant progress towards their educational goals with me. I am flexible with my teaching style; I try to do everything possible to meet the distinct needs and interests of all of my students.

English is my first language, but I also have an advanced/functionally bilingual level of Spanish. I am comfortable tutoring students in either language.

I love working with motivated adolescent and adult students in need of help with Spanish, English as a first or second language, SAT verbal, the TOEFL exam, or basic academic skills (ABE/GED tests).

I can't wait to meet you!

More On Sarah's Subjects:

  • ESL/ESOL

I request permission to tutor students in English as a Second Language (ESL). This is my passion and the area in which I have the most teaching experience. I have worked with students from Latin America and Asia for the past four years, ranging from elementary school students to adults. These tutoring experiences have been both volunteer and paid, in topics including general ESL and test preparation for the GED, SAT, and TOEFL. While I am very flexible and try to cater to the particular needs and interests of the student, I believe in a contextual and communicative approach. I believe that any student can learn a language, given sufficient input, feedback, and motivation. I would love to tutor ESL students in any setting.

  • powerpoint

I request permission to be able to tutor students in the use of Microsoft Powerpoint. I have worked with Powerpoint for the past eight years, and I always prepare presentations with a user-friendly, professional appearance. I am sure that I could be of service to anyone who has no knowledge or only a basic working knowledge of Powerpoint.
