I have had the great fortune to perform for 22 years on the Operatic and Concert stages here and throughout Europe as an Opera singer. This was an irreplaceable and valuable experience in that I really learned how to work together with colleagues, and staff for the benefit of staged productions. I began as a member of the Zurich International Opera Theater for one year, and went on to sing in Germany and other Theaters throughout Europe. A huge benefit of performing all of those years is that I learned what it was like to work under direction from many stage, and musical directors from different countries around the world. Hence, I gained an understanding of a composer’s music through the many different view points as seen through a director’s eyes. I learned how to sustain long, intensive schedules, and I learned many different roles in short periods of time. This is enormous because every time one learns a new part, there are so many different facets both vocally, and theatrically one has to address. I had to be flexible, quick and thorough. In addition, experiencing live performances, and having personal contact to such great jazz artists such as Duke Ellington, Earl May, Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Burrell my horizons were broadened, and I gained an understanding of the vocal and musical aspects which belong to other musical genres. Through this experience, I discovered a whole new world in the Jazz/Evergreens/Standard repertoire which enabled me to bring a band together, and perform in this arena as well.
I believe that it is imperative that singers learn how to breathe properly, and support their voices because it will ultimately perfect their vocal production. In my classroom, all are welcome who are interested in improving their voices! If you have a goal, or the occasion then you’re in the right place! Students come to me from all over the world and are mostly being trained for the professional stages in Europe. However, I enjoy the challenge of working with hobby singers, and beginners. As long as you have an aim, goal, and the will to sing, then I can help you on your way. Naturally, if you are interested in Theatre and the Opera stages in Germany, I would prepare you in the best possible way to meet the standards of the European Agents and Directors. By this I mean I would not only prepare you to Sing well, but I would prepare your German language in order to introduce yourself to the agents upon entering a stage, we would work on stage presentation by the first meeting, what to wear for an audition, stage choreography (how to enter a stage), interpretation and delivery of lyrics, and first and foremost the right repertoire for your figure and voice type.

I began my musical career in the High School of Music and Art. Today, they have re-named the school, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. Music has been my major through out; including, Fisk University and my performing career. As a performer, I have had to be quick in learning music to get to the performance level. This entails the ability to have accuracy in identifying pitches, and mastering notation from an entire musical score, for example. After 20 years + of performing, and teaching, I have had a great deal of experience as well with students to perfect their musical ear.

My musical education began in the Fiorello H LaGuardia High School for performance. We were required to study general music. My study in this area continued throughout the university where I majored in music. My 20 + years in performance qualify me in that I was learning new musical/operatic, and concert scores.
The historical period had to be researched, composers style studied, and a general understanding of the musical style was expected.
During my time as an operatic singer in theaters here and abroad, I worked with a diverse cast of directors, conductors, and stage managers successfully for the sole purpose of bringing operatic productions to fruition. I also had the opportunity to teach voice lessons, and coach musical pieces to children ages 10 to 17 years of age with great success. After 18 years in Germany, I have honed such skills as fluency in the German language, being organized and spontaneous to learn musical parts quickly for my home theater, and guest productions. An integral part of being able to do this was having the ability to be flexible enough to travel on a moments notice to new theaters to replace a singer in a production. Imparting the knowledge I have acquired to interested children is a passion of mine.
As well, in order to prepare roles for various directors, I learned to coordinate my workday schedule to benefit the purpose of an entire musical production. I was always open to providing staging solutions and getting successful results along with my colleagues for the benefit of the production.
As a vocal instructor, I also assisted choral directors at home, and on tour, and created effective vocal techniques for youth, and adults in private instruction, and groups for choral settings.

I have had the great pleasure to perform for 22 years on the Operatic and Concert stages here and throughout Europe as an Opera singer. I, myself, have coached extensively with vocal instructors, and coaches internationally to aid me in learning roles in different languages, and styles including; German, French, Russian, English, and Italian. Singing repertoire from different composers is challenging in that the language and vocal line have to be relearned each time. After years of mastering this challenge along with teaching hundreds of students in choirs and privately, I feel that I am quite qualified to impart this knowledge to students. I also have a passion for teaching, and I am able to meet each individual student at their level.
