About

Hi! I am a New York City Department of Education teacher who began my career through Teach for America in 2005. As I have worked with children since high school as a nanny and post-graduation as a teacher, I am incredibly qualified to tutor your child.
I have worked in three different classroom styles: self-contained general education, cooperative team teaching (inclusion), and as a math cluster teacher. Within each of these systems, I have used data, positive behavior management techniques, and relentless dedication to move students forward at least a year and a half in both math and reading/writing. Not only do I ensure that your child excels academically, but I also help your child to feel respected and comfortable, in order to truly flourish and thrive as a person and learner.
As a tutor, I will test your child in the needed subject to determine progress and use New York State standards to guide my instruction. I will teach using your child's preferred learning modality, as well as other modalities, ensuring that your child will grow as a learner. This will be a positive experience during which there will be free- flowing communication between the parent, teacher, and tutor to collaborate for your child's success. I look forward to working with you! |
