Q: How do I find a tutor using WyzAnt?
A: Simple. Use the navigation panel on the left side of your screen. Enter the subject for which you need a tutor, your travel willingness, and your zip code. You will see a list of all WyzAnt tutors who match your criteria. Click on a tutor's name to learn more and to contact a tutor directly.
Q: The tutor I'm interested in doesn't have a schedule posted online. Does this mean he or she is not available?
A: All tutors listed on our website have availability, even if they don’t have an updated schedule. Your best bet is to send the tutor an email to see if he or she can work with your schedule.
Q: I need instruction in a subject that you do not seem to offer. What do I do?
A: If your search comes up empty, don’t worry. Email us at info@wyzant.com or call at 877-WYZANT1 and we will help you find a qualified tutor in your area.
Q: What if I don't find a local tutor in my subject area?
A: If your search comes up empty, don't worry! You can request a tutor and we will help you find a match that meets your needs.
Q: What if I email a tutor and don't hear back from him or her?
A: We do everything we can to keep our database up-to-date and prevent this from happening. However, if this does occur, please let us know right away and we will go out of our way to make sure you get all the help you need to straighten out the situation. There is a good chance that we have another tutor for you and we will do our best to put you touch with the tutor as soon as possible.

Q: How much does tutoring cost through WyzAnt?
A: Tutors set their own rate and most range in price from $35 to $45 per hour. However, WyzAnt does offer discounts to our students for making an advance purchase.
    • Starting summer 2009, you can receive a 5% discount on packages of $200-$399, with a total cost of $190-$379.
    • A package of lessons that would cost $400-$999 will receive a 10% discount, resulting in an upfront charge of $360-$899.
    • A package worth $1,000-$2,499 will be eligible for a 15% discount, with a total cost of $850-$2124.
    • Packages of $2,500+ will receive a 20% discount and cost $2,000 and up.
    Remember, satisfaction with your first hour of tutoring is guaranteed and the unused portion of your purchase amount is both refundable and transferable to any WyzAnt tutor.
Q: Why do I have to add a credit card before I can exchange phone numbers with tutors?
A: WyzAnt has this policy for two reasons. First, it helps ensure the legitimacy of the inquiries our tutors receive. Second, it provides WyzAnt with a means of collecting payment for tutoring lessons. Your credit card information will be encrypted in our database for added security and charges will only be made at your discretion or after a tutor submits a lesson review.
Q: May I try out a tutoring lesson for free?
A: No, WyzAnt must receive payment prior to your first meeting. However, WyzAnt does have a satisfaction guarantee policy that makes your first hour of tutoring risk-free.
Q: When and how do I make payment?
A: The easiest method of payment is by credit card via WyzAnt’s secure website. Once you have found a suitable tutor, just enter your credit card information through your WyzAnt account. As soon as WyzAnt receives and verifies this credit card information, you will be able to set up the first lesson with your tutor.
Q: Are there different payment plans or discounts available?

Q: I just got an email from you saying that I’ve been charged the non-discounted rate for my tutoring lesson. I purchased a package, so I should be getting charged the discounted rate, right?
A: You are in fact receiving the discount. Here’s how: Let’s assume you purchased the $400 credit package and you paid $360. Let’s also say your tutor’s rate is $40 per hour. After a one hour lesson, $40 is debited from your WyzAnt credit. Remember, you got $400 in credit but paid only $360, so you received your 10% discount upfront when we gave you a free $40 in credit.
Q: Am I permitted to pay the tutor cash?
A: No, all payment must be made through WyzAnt. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with this policy.
Q: What happens if I don't use all of the credit I purchase in one of your packages?
A: WyzAnt will always refund the unused portion of your purchase amount.

A: The majority of our customers host the tutoring sessions in their homes. This arrangement has proven to be beneficial in providing the student with a familiar, comfortable, and relaxed learning environment. Provided your tutor agrees, you may have your tutoring lessons at a convenient public location such as a library, church, or coffee shop.
Q: How do I schedule a lesson?

Q: How does WyzAnt know how much to debit my account for each lesson?
A: After each lesson, your tutor will login to WyzAnt.com and enter the start-time and end-time for your lesson. As a WyzAnt client, you have access to an online account that allows you to view your current balance and all tutoring activity entered by the tutor. Additionally, you will get an email after each tutoring lesson notifying you of the hours that the tutor enters so you can be sure your account remains accurate.
Q: May I use my credit for multiple subjects or tutors?
A: Of course! When you purchase WyzAnt credit, you can use this credit however you please. For instance, perhaps your daughter gets regular physics tutoring but your son has a huge Spanish test at the end of the week. In this case, you can simply login to your account to find a qualified Spanish tutor in your area and use the same credit for any future lessons.
Q: I believe that the tutor has entered one of my lessons incorrectly. How do I get this corrected?
A: The easiest way to get this issue corrected is to contact the tutor directly. The tutor can then go into WyzAnt.com and adjust the lesson details to accurately reflect the correct dates/times.
