Health Education for a Healthy Future
Schools are where students go to become educated in order to persevere in life. I believe that life cannot be lived successfully by just knowing a single branch of knowledge, but by accumulating the knowledge of many branches. A branch that is crucial to living a well-rounded life is the one consisting of the knowledge of health education. I am working towards becoming a health educator. My goal is to teach all students about the topics of safe sex, dangers of drugs, puberty, and healthy relationships. I believe that these topics are as important as any other subjects that are taught in school.
It can never be too early to start exploring the important information that this subject has to offer. Information on safe sex and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases can save lives and prevent unplanned births of babies to couples that are only kids themselves. Students should have the opportunity to learn about their bodies, how to maintain healthy relationships, and how to protect themselves from diseases and peer pressure. Puberty, sex, and relationships are inevitable components of life that will always exist. It only makes sense to provide information to students about these facts of life with legitimate information that can only help them when making educated decisions regarding their health and personal life outside the classroom.
I want students to be able to get answers to questions that might make a difference in their life changing choices. I want to keep young students from becoming statistics. My goal as a health educator is to promote safety among society and by providing this information to students, I will try to set them up for a lifetime of knowledge and health.
