The Importance Of Education
As I prepared to begin my education at Texas State University in San Marcos, I thought a lot about what I wanted to major in. Then, one day, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I am currently aspiring to major in elementary education, because not only do I adore small children, but I also want to make an impact on these children’s lives. As a child, I do not remember most of my peers’ names, the name of my doctor, or the name of my mailman. However, I do distinctively remember the names of the teachers that made a phenomenal impact on my life. Teaching is more about getting children to learn how to read or educating them in simple mathematics. It is about leaving a mark on them that will remain inside of them for the remainder of their lives. To me, educating those children would be an awe-inspiring career because I have the potential to prepare the world’s next astronauts, scientists, or even the next president of the United States for the futures ahead of them. I desire to implant in them the seed of learning that they will nurture and grow for the rest of their lives. Teaching is a remarkable and sometimes unappreciated career that impacts the local community and the world on a such humongous scale. Therefore, I want to make my impact on the world by educating the next generation of Americans.
