Ecclesiastes 3: 12-14
"I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil-this is the gift of God."
I have come to realize that I may never have a bank account that holds more than a few thousand dollars, I may never own a new car and I may never live in my dream home on the water but, that does not bother me anymore. I have grown into the man I am today because I do not worry about anything the world has to offer me. The only thing the world has to offer me are material possessions which are meaningless and by reading the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, I have come to fully understand this.
This fairly short and very blunt book of the Old Testament has given me peace. I now understand that it is not what you receive in this life but instead, what you cannot replace that are important: the people in my life.
I have striven to find satisfaction in this sometimes wonderful and other times hurtful life that I am living and have found my outlet. I hope and pray to become a beacon of hope for those without hope as I pursue a career in the education field and try to change the lives of our future generations and show them that although this life may not always be fair, there is still a purpose in it all.
