What does that word "marginal" mean in economics?

The word "marginal" confuses some students in economics. Some teachers try to clarify it by saying "incremental". What marginal means is "the next one" If I say that 1 worker produces 5 widgets, and the next worker produces 4 widgets, then the "marginal" worker produces 4 widgets!!! Try it on a table in your economics book, and you will see what I mean!!!
