When helping children with math, use items that grab the child's attention. Make learning math a visual and edible experience. They are sure to "beg" for more... For example, when a child is having difficulty with subtraction use M&M's to visually guide them ... M&M's being different colors can be useful in other mathematical ways such as groups. Other edible ideas, Skittles, peanuts (if not allergic), seeds, other kinds of nuts, fruit snacks, pretzels, chocolate chips, popcorn,.... you get the idea. Once they have figured out the problem with the correct answer they can eat the puzzle as reward. HAPPY LEARNING!!!
