OpenOffice can also be taken with you on a thumb drive. At http://www.portableapps.com you can find a portable application suite full of software that can be run from a thumb drive. And, this software suite comes with a portable version of OpenOffice with all of the functionality of the home version. This is great for students or office employees so that they can have access to their documents and software while on the run and when their laptop battery runs down. Just plug it into any PC running Windows and start working. You can view my instructional video on installing Portable Apps at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grvkCaBWFPY.
