“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
? Nelson Mandela
I think this quote speaks to me more strongly than many others because of the trend of anti-intellectualism that I see among some students today. For reasons that are still largely unknown to me, I've witnessed some young people who appear to be under the impression that to excel academically is to somehow be less authentic or less "real" as a human being. This is the ultimate irony, however, in that, as Mandela states, education is in no way limiting, but instead is the ultimate method of becoming a truly empowered person in the world.
