In the Spring of 2010 I began working with a college student named Allen M. who was having a lot of problems with his Managerial Accounting class. His uncompleted assignments were piling up and his understanding of the material was weak. In the third week of the class we started covering fundamentals and completing his homework. I provided a printout of handling Accounting entries and worked with his knowledge of the double-entry system. Allen soon grasped the basics and the groundwork was set for him to slowly started pulling his grade up. Two months later he was solving problems and preparing financial statements. His test grades were improving until Allen finished with a final grade of B. His persistent efforts in picking up the material and learning it worked well to his credit.
