The World (In)famous 'Correct Answer Algorithm'
If you're anything like me, at times you've wished for an easy way to work math problems and get the answer in the back of the book.Of course, you probably tried just copying the book's answers on to your homework paper only to have that "unreasonable" teacher of yours refuse to give you credit for all those answers!... something about not showing enough work.
Well, you're in luck! I've taken a couple of math concepts from the internet,combined and refined them into a technique will take answer you have, no matter how wrong or bogus, and "transmogrify" it into the answer in the back using simple algebra which you can use to show full work. I call this technique The Correct Answer Algorithm (it's so simple it needs a really complicated name to make it sound sophisticated enough to impress your teacher.)
So here it is... the algorithm which will in short order transmogrify your answer into the answer in the back of the book:
X = Ff · Xu + Cf where Ff = the Fudge Factor, Xu = the undesired answer, Cf = Finagle’s Constant
So, right now, you’re probably going “Huh?” and wondering what in the world are the "Fudge Factor" and "Finagle's Constant".
Well, gentle student, the Fudge Factor is simply the number, 0, and Finagle’s Constant is the answer in the back of the book (or any other answer you might prefer you had instead of the one you have at the moment!)
So, let’s take this baby out for a spin, so I can show you how it works...
Suppose you’ve being asked to solve the equation: x³ + 2 = 26.
x³ + 2 = 26
-2 - 2
x³ = 24 ³vx³ = ³v24
x = ³v24 x = 2.88499…
So far, so good. You look in the back of the book and it says the answer is “2 ³v3”.
Oh, no! The book wants the exact answer and you haven’t gone to your friendly tutor, John H., yet to find out how to do radical math.
What are you going to do?
Well, it's time to break out the World (In)famous Correct Answer Algorithm...
Expression Mathematical Principle/Law
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
1) X = Ff · Xu + Cf 1) Correct Answer Algorithm
2) = (0) · (2.88499...) + (2 ³v3) 2) Subst Property of Equality
3) = 0 + 2 ³v3 3) Simplify / Mult Ppty of Eq
4) = 2 ³v3 4) Simplify / Add Ppty of Eq
Ta dah! You've now shown all your work by invoking a novel function followed by a series of absolutely legitimate mathematical steps to turn your answer in to the answer in the back of the book!
Better still, I can guarantee you that it will work 100% of the time. Only problem is, you might find that your teacher starts mumbling stuff about "Well, even if you did show all your work, it isn't the 'correct' work." or "How many more years till retirement?". At that point, all I can suggest is you not tell them it was me who suggested this idea would ever work and make an appointment for extra help from your teacher or with your friendly WyzAnt math tutor.
Best of luck! Let me know how this works for you*, because I, your devoted tutor, really care!

I hope you realize by now that this is meant just for fun and that you really do need to learn how to do your math correctly! I really do care and would be glad to help you with your studies.- jlh
