I would first get rid of the fractions by multiplying everything by 11x (the denominator):

11x(6/11x + 4 = 2/11x + 16)        giving us

6 + 44x = 2 + 176x                        see how much easier this looks now :) Now bring the 176x and 6 over to their opposite sides (easy way to do this is think 176x is positive on the right, so its negative on the left... just move it over and flip the sign :)

-132x = -4 so x = 4/132 = 1/33

 

FINAL ANSWER x = 1/33

6/11x+4=2/11x+16 simplify.... 4/11x=12 4=132x x=.030303
