You can use little knowledge in number theorem.

(a+3) mod 5 ≡ 0

a mod 5 ≡ -3mod 5 ≡ 2 mod 5

Answer: The remainder is 2.

Hi Shahid!

Let's isolate "a" first -- a= 5*integr - 3

a/5 = intger - 3/5; thus remainder is -3/5
