remember "x" is input and "y" is the output. Function is like a machine- you put something in- function does something to it- and something else comes out.

So we put -5 to y=6x+2 and we get -28

because y=6*(-5) +2= -28

try with different values of "x" and see what you get.

y = 6 ยท (-5) + 2
y = -30 + 2
y = -28
