To simplify this problem, let's try to solve for Y so we can just input values for X.

14y + 4x = -14

14y = -14 - 4x                     Move 4x to the other side of the equation

14y = -14 - 4x                     Divide the whole equation by 14 to get y by itself

14          14

y = -1 - (4/14)x

Now, we can input any value for X and it will give us Y.

If X = 14, then Y = -5

If X = 7, then Y = -3
