1 Answer

1.  y = (1/4)x + 2

2.  y = 4

3.  y = 4x

4.  y = (1/4)x

Parallel lines are lines with the same slope, but different y-intercepts.  Since these lines are all on slope-intercept form, we can determine their slopes and y-intercepts

1.  Slope is 1/4 and y-intercept is 2

2.  Slope is 0 (full equation is y = 0x + 4) and y-intercept is 4

3.  Slope is 4 and y-intercept is 0 (full equation is y = 4x + 0)

4.  Slope is 1/4 and y-intercept is 0 (full equation is y = (1/4)x + 0)

Since Lines 1 and 4 have the same slope, but different y-intercepts, they are the parallel lines
