You're all on the right track, but is there some
stipulation that the term with the variable come first?
Nobody seemed to want to flip the terms.

Isn't 3-9x simpler than

3(1-3x) or even

-9x+3

?

Granted, they're all equivalent, but
keystroke for keystroke,
3-9x
has all the rest beat.
NEG * NEG  = POS
NEG * POS  = NEG
POS * NEG  = NEG
POS * POS  = POS

REMEMBER THIS AND U CANT GO WRONG

-(9x-3)             =-1(9x)- -1(3)

Rule: negative X positive =negative, and you are distributing -1. So -1 X 9x = -9x and -1 X 3 =-3

Now you will simplify -9x - (-3)

When subtracting integers, change the subtraction sign to an addition sign, then change the sign of the number being subtracted to the opposite. Or to make it simpler, when subtracting integers, subtract the opposite.  This becomes -9x - the opposite of -3 which is +3. Since 9 has a variable, you cannot subtract the 3 from the 9.

Therefore the answer is -9x + 3

When simplifying this expression, remember that the negative sign outside the parentheses represents a distributive property and the negative in front is actually a -1. Then distribute it out:

(-1)(9x) - (-1)(3)

Remember that negative time negative is positive:

-9x + 3

The negative sign needs to be applied to each term, so -(9x-3) = -9x+3

Then, you can divide 3 from both terms, so -9x+3 = -3(3x-1) I hope this helps!

Add a negative sign to each term in parentheses; so it becomes -9x--3 which is -9x+3. Look for a common factor; both 9 and 3 are divisible by 3. So it becomes -3(3x-1). Hope this helps somebody.

If you solve the equation -(9x-3) = -9x+3

So to simplify this equation and to prevent you from making mistake, you can simplify the answer of the equation. So the answer will be:

-9x+3 = -3(3x-1)

When simplifying this expresion, remember that the negative in front is really a -1. So you need to distribute the -1 to each term.

-(9x - 3)

-1(9x - 3)

(-1)(9x) - (-1)(3)

Then multiply each term to simplify. I hope this helps!
