how do i find the slope of a line paralell to y=3x+5?

y = 3x+5
is in "slope-intercept" form
y=mx + b
so, from inspection then, we see that the slope is 3. That is:
m = 3
A line that is parallel to y=3x+5 MUST have the SAME slope (3).
