Use this anagram to help you remember the order of operations:

Parentheses Exponents Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction

3(4-2)-4(2+9) = 3(2) - 4(11) = 6 - 44 = -38

do the paratheses first so that'll give you 3(2)-4(11)

then multiply and you get 6-44

then subtract and you get -38
