7(x+9)=7

Let's divide both sides by 7...

[7(x+9)]/7=7/7

x+9=1

Let's subtract 9 from both sides...

x+9-9=1-9

**x=-8**

Let's check our work...

7(x+9)=7

7(-8+9)=7

(7)(1)=7

7=7
