x1 = 1 , y1 = 2

Substituting, y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )

y - 2 = 1/2 ( x - 1)

y - 2 = (1/2)x - 1/2

Adding 2 to both sides, y - 2 + 2 = (1/2)x - 1/2 + 2

y = (1/2)x - (1/2) + (4/2)

Here, x_{1} = 1 , y_{1} = 2 and m = 1/2

So, after substituting you'll get

y - 2 = (1/2) (x - 1)

y - 2 = (1/2)x - (1/2) (distribute 1/2)

Add 2 on both sides of the equation

y - 2 = (1/2)x - (1/2)

+2 + 2
