3x2+28x+16-14=14-14
3x2+28x+2=0
x={-28±√[(28)2-4x3x2]}/(2x3)
x=2{-14±√[190]}/(2x3)
x={-14±√[190]}/3
3x^2 +28x+16=14  is the same as 3x^2 + 28x+2 = 0

a=3  b=28   c=2

(-b±√b^2-4ac)/2a

(-3±√(28)^2-4(3)(2))/2(3)

(-3±√784-24)/6
(-3±√760)/6

-3/6 ±(√760)/6

you can simplify √760 down a little bit because 760 = 190x4, which means that √760 = √190 x √4

now the answer becomes:
-3/6 ± (2/6)√190

which simplifies down to:
-1/2 ± (1/3)√190
