V = pi * r2 * h (formula)

Given V = 72cm3, h = 9cm

Solve the formula for r

V = pi * r2 * h

V/(pi * h) = (pi * r2 * h)/(pi * h)                (isolate r2 by dividing both sides by pi * h)

V/(pi * h) = r2

√(V/(pi * h)) = √(r2)                                  (take square root of both sides)

√(V/(pi * h)) = r

√(72/(3.14 * 9)) = r                                    (substitute the values of V, pi, and h)

√2.55 = r

1.6 = r or r = 1.6cm  ---------->(answer)
