some one help i have been working on this all day

A line has the given slope m and passes through the first point listed
in the table . complete the table so that each point on the table lies
on the line.

General rule for equation of Line is:

Y = mX + b

You should have M1, and coordinate of one  point given , i.e. (X1,Y1), and m1

Y =M1 + b

Plug in  (x1,Y1) in the equation

b  = Y1 - M1X1
back into equation

Y = M1X - Y1 - M1X1
In your example  m = 2  say it passes through point ( 2,3).

Y = 2X + b
3 = 2(2) +b
b = 3-4 = -1

Y = 2X -1

First, you need to find the equation of this line. Since you have the slope and a point (0,0) we can use the point-slope formula to get the equation of this line.

Point-slope formula: y - y1 = m(x - x1)      m = 2, x1 = 0, and y1 = 0
y - 0 = 2(x - 0)
y =2x   ---> this is the equation of line

To find the other y-values to complete the table take the x values and plug them into the equation of the line y = 2x to get the y-values. So your final answer for your table will be:

x   0    1    2    3
y   0    2    4    6

Hey Crystal -- slope "m" is "rise over run" ... m=2 means that when x runs 1, y rises 2 ... when x runs 2, y rises 4 ... x runs 3, y rises 6 ... Regards, ma'am :)
