This question is asking what is 2 multiplied by negative 5.  The rules are as follows:

A positive multiplied by a positive results in a positive number.

A negative multiplied by a negative results in a negative number.

A negative number multiplied by a positive number results in a negative number.

 

Therefore, 2 times negative 5 is equal to negative 10,

or

2(-5)=-10
