Are they asking to solve for y in terms of x?

-10x - 5y + 1 = 0

+10x +10x

-5y + 1 = 10x

- 1 - 1

-5y = 10x - 1

/(-5) /(-5)

y = (10x - 1)/(-5) OR y = -2x + (1/5)

Are they asking you to graph?

y = -2x + (1/5)

Has a slope of -2 and a y-intercept of (1/5) [using slope-intercept form]

If you need to find the x and y intercepts, then plug zero in for one varriable and solve for the other.

-10x - 5y + 1 = 0

-10(0) - 5y + 1 = 0

-5y + 1 = 0

-5y = -1

y = 1/5 written as a point (0, 1/5)

-10x - 5y + 1 = 0

-10x - 5(0) + 1 = 0

-10x + 1 = 0

-10x = -1

x = 1/10 written as a point (1/10, 0)
