If you have two numbers added together, but can be subtracted to be zero, then the two numbers must be the same.
Here's an example:
1+1 =2, but 1-1 = 0!
So, to answer your question,
8+8 = 16, and 8-8 = 0!
Data: x+y=16 and x-y=0 ==> x=y
==============================================================
I going to substitude x on y, because x=y
Substituing:
x+y=16 ==> x+x=16 ==> 2x=16 ==> x=16/2 ==> x=8
=============================================================
Pruve:
x+y=16
if x=y and x=8, then y=8
subtituing their value
8+8=16 ==> 16=16
