I am here to offer academic help to students in need at all levels. I am an instructor of Introductory Sociology at Marshall University as well as a second MA student in Communication Studies. I have been incredibly successful in all of my academic pursuits and believe that if I can do it, you can do it. I graduated 3rd in my class from Cabell Midland High School and maintained a 4.0 average throughout my graduate program. I am a John Marshall scholar and graduated with my BA Magna cum Laude.

My specialties include writing, statistics, ACT, GRE, sociology or any social science, and general study skills. I firmly believe in the power of note cards!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you succeed!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I excel in all academic subjects, and basic elementary subjects are no different. I am currently working with a 5th grader on grammar and reading, and I have several years of past experience as a babysitter which included elementary-level school assignments. I can help inspire children to become lifelong learners by helping to boost confidence and bolster understanding in this subject.

Public Speaking

I am a natural public speaker and have a knack for helping others feel at ease tackling the daunting task of speaking in front of others. I have taught four college courses, presented in front of the WV Legislature several times and have presented to a large crowd at a national legislative conference. I am presently teaching two sections of Introduction to Public Speaking at Marshall University, so I can certainly tutor others in this area.

Study Skills

I have excellent study skills as my academic credentials suggest, and I can effectively communicate these habits for success to others. I have taught more than 10 college level classes, which required consistent study efforts by my students. I have also spent nearly 100 hours working directly with students either tutoring or in office hours to assist them in developing the discipline and skills required to succeed in academia.
