Hello! My name is David, and I'm a recent transplant to Milwaukee. Up until recently, I've been working as a project manager for a large healthcare IT company. I'll be a student at UWM pursuing pre-requisites in order to apply to medical school in the summer of 2014.
I'm a hard working, passionate, diverse learner. Through my years at Northwestern, I took course overloads across many disciplines, which led me to graduate in 4 years with a triple major in Materials Science, Economics, and Spanish with minors in Global Health and Classical Studies. I scored in the 99th percentile in the ACT, notably a 35 in the Science and Math sections. I was a National AP Scholar, taking 13 APs during my time as a high school student, which translated into 12 credits at Northwestern.
Specific strengths are in middle/high school/college Spanish, as I was the Spanish Department tutor at Northwestern. As a non-native speaker, I know what it's like to really come from no background in the language and take ownership of my fluency. I received a 5 on the AP Spanish Language exam as a senior and maintained an A average while at Northwestern in Spanish classes.
Additionally, as I'm preparing for the MCAT, I'm brushing up on my physics, biology, and chemistry required for the exam. I was deeply involved in research as an undergraduate. I have an article published and an accepted patent regarding my work in bionanotechnology.
I enjoy talking to students about their college plans, and perform interviews for prospective Northwestern freshmen. I can definitely help your student strengthen their application to college as well.
All in all, I love to learn and would love to help your student achieve their goals. I look forward to working with you!
