I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied philosophy, among a wide range of subjects, including Spanish and religious studies. I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, as a junior, where I developed my Spanish-speaking skills to a new level. After graduating, I became certified as a ESL teacher through Oxford Seminars, and used my certification to teach English in Colombia for five months. Through this trip, I gained experience as a teacher, while teaching all different age levels and a number of different lesson styles. I also improved my Spanish skills to be near to completely fluent.
Being a philosophy graduate, my method of teaching has evolved to be very student-oriented; I like to let the student make the connections, while I try and supplicate their knowledge with my own. I am very enthusiastic with teaching and learning, and although I will be the tutor with your student, I am as eager as the student, knowing that there are always opportunities to learn, regardless of the position I am in.
I would happily help any age student with their Spanish skills, and also would help any student to learn English, whether it be as a second language or as a school subject. I am open to trying the method of learning that best suits each respective student.
