Hello there! I graduated from Crown College (located in Minnesota) with a degree in Youth Ministry. I am currently attending UW-Milwaukee in pursuit of a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. I also work part-time for Krones Inc. in Franklin, WI as an Industrial Engineering Intern. Do not worry! I make time for my students! :)
I've worked mainly with children and teenagers both professionally and socially. While attending school in Minnesota, I led an after school program for elementary students dealing with basic physics and construction. Upon my return to Milwaukee four years ago, I worked at Luther Burbank in Milwaukee as a teacher's aide, assisting all grades from K-5 to 8th grade with Math and English. I am still involved with my church's children and youth programs.
I love sports and have been involved in it my entire life. I am passionate about coaching and have coached middle school basketball and football teams. I also am involved in sports leagues and tournaments in which I participate regularly. I've played for a club football and basketball team, coached a club football team, and I am currently starting a club volleyball team.
I teach in various ways: sometimes inside the box, sometimes outside the box. I prefer meeting with students in person but I am more than willing to utilize Skype or online classrooms. Whether it's in Math, English, or sports, my goal is always to help the student reach their full potential. I look forward to working with you!
All algebra skills for children to high schoolers.
Solving equations with single to multiple unknowns.
I spent two years assisting with an 8th grade middle school basketball team and coaching a 6th grade basketball team while working at an elementary school. I have played club and league basketball which involved team practices, meetings, and film sessions. I am also an avid NBA fan.
When teaching basketball I start from the very foundation (dribbling, passing, ball catching skills, etc.) and work my way up. The amount of time spent on each subject may vary but I believe in teaching and reaching fundamentals perfection. The greatest players in the world (as well as NBA MVP 2012-13 Lebron James) have a great grasp of fundamental basketball. This involves not just shooting but defense, rebounding, passing, and an overall understanding of the game of basketball.
I employ many different drills that try to simulate real game-time situations. Though real game situations can never be replicated exactly I believe that a well devised drill can help a student deal with that situation better. This is especially true for younger players.
I have an undergraduate degree in Youth Ministry. A large part of my studies involved studying Old Testament and New Testament history. I also wrote theological papers on entire books of the Bible, specific subject matter, etc. Currently I still preach at my local church, and do a lot of Bible study and research to prepare.
I was accredited by the Christian and Missionary Alliance in 2010 though was never licensed as I was unable to find an assignment as a Youth Pastor. Regardless, I spent my entire college career and many years after preparing and tailoring messages for different audiences. I prepared sermons, bible study, Sunday school lessons, and small group lessons for kids, teens, and young married couples.
I am very passionate about my faith and still continue to study the Bible.
I helped start, lead, and coach a club flag football team with family and friends. We played in tournaments 1-2 times a month and practiced 3 times a week. Though it was flag football, the rules are similar to tackle. It was full contact line 9-on-9 flag football with jamming receivers allowed, a full blown run game, etc. I also coached a middle school flag football team comprised of 6th-8th graders.
I also played some football in high school and took what I learned there and expanded upon it. I am a student of the game and watch football and film incessantly. Like any other sport I focus on the fundamentals as it is the foundation for everything. I am very keen on creating my own drills that simulate in game situations and test the players both physically and mentally. The drills are all tailored to each position and I never have a player do a drill that will not benefit them.
Understanding computers, how they work, and hardware.
Properly forming sentences and using the correct vocabulary.
I received my undergraduate degree from Crown College in Youth Ministry. As part of my studies, I took several classes in speaking and preaching. As a result, I have spent countless hours speaking in front of classrooms.
While serving in several different churches as a youth and college program teacher and leader, I have taught and spoken in front of groups of 20-30 people on a weekly basis. I have also spoken at several youth conferences and events of over 150 people. Currently, I preach at my local church, speaking to groups ranging from 75-200 people for two months out of the year.
