Hello students and parents! My name is Bailey and I am currently a sophomore at Niagara University. I am studying a wide range of subjects currently, including Norwegian and Scandinavian Studies, but I am going to double major in History and Spanish and minor in Law and ASL. I have been tutoring for 6 years, beginning in middle school and continuing through high school and now in college.
I am interested in working with a wide range of students, whether they be at the elementary, middle, secondary, or college level. I have taught Sunday School to 3rd graders for 5 years now, as well as coached high school soccer and golf, and have tutored at all levels, so I am capable of tutoring people of all ages.
The subjects that I am most knowledgeable about are History, (World History, American History, History of Great Britain, European History, World War One History, etc.), Music, ( I have been playing piano for 13 years, cello for 9 years, guitar (acoustic and electric) for 8 years, handbells for 5 years, ukulele for 3 years, violin for 1 year, bass for 1 year, banjo for 1 year, and I recently took up the guitalele. I am also familiar with composing and arranging original music.) and Spanish (7 years of formal schooling). I am also able to tutor students in elementary, middle, and high school levels of math, science, English, or health.
As a tutor, I am prepared to help guide students through learning material. I like to have students show me what they can do by themselves and jump in and assist them when they get stuck and need assistance rather than guide them through entire problems. I find this method to be very effective because students are encouraged by the fact that they do know what they are doing; they just may need some assistance along the way. Building this kind of self confidence is a crucial part in becoming a good student. I also believe that everybody has a different method of learning, and I will be committed to teaching someone using a method that works best for them.
I look forward to tutoring you and helping you reach your full educational potential in the near future!
