I've been teaching ESL for 21 years to students of all ages and every level from all parts of the world. I've taught in Bloomington, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Ann Arbor, and am now looking forward to sharing my experience, expertise and love of teaching with students in the Kenosha-Racine area.
I have a Bachelor's degree in French and spent a year studying in Strasbourg, France. I have a master's Degree in Applied Linguistics-TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have taught preparation courses for the TOEFL and Cambridge exams and have been an evaluator of the Cambridge exam. I have also worked as a proofreader for the Indiana University Press, have worked as a freelance translator and have been publishing poetry in various literary journals for three decades.
In my teaching I combine a thorough understanding of the English language with a genuine concern for my students. I believe that an effective language teacher must have a good rapport with the students, a sense of humor and a great deal of patience and kindness.
