Hi. I'm Ellen.

I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from UW-Madison and my Masters degree from Viterbo University. During my years as a middle school teacher, I have been trained in using best practices to match student's learning styles with specific teaching strategies. Besides working with a whole class, I have worked with small groups and one-on-one to help students achieve their potential.

I have worked with students Kindergarten through grade 10, in math, science, language arts, social studies and study skills. I have also tutored older students, grades 11 and 12, as well as college students and adults.

ASVAB

Review and test preparation for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) includes Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematic Knowledge, Word Knowledge, and Paragraph Comprehension.

Because the tests are timed, it is essential to review and practice first. I can help you prepare for the four subjects within the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT).

Elementary (K-6th)

I am an experienced classroom teacher, in grades K-8. I am able to work with students in any subject area; in particular, I can help with math, language arts, phonics and reading.

Study Skills

Knowing how and what to study is a frequently overlooked skill. Students can be taught study skills and find greater success in school. As a certified elementary school teacher, I can help a student organize, plan, and learn how to study.
