I am a licensed math and science teacher, and have experience with students with special needs, especially ADHD and dyslexia. I have worked with sixth grade through adult. I currently do math intervention with a local school district.

My objective with most students is to make them self-reliant learners, and gain the confidence they need to be successful in college and beyond. I adapt my approach to the individual student's learning style, and expect my students to prepare for our sessions.

I have helped many young people prepare for their ACT, SAT and GMAT tests, and provide guidance to help them make the most of their time when preparing for the test. I consider myself more of the coach, but the students really need to do the "heavy lifting" in order to achieve their goals.

ACT Math

I use very targeted instruction with my students. Using a full diagnostic ACT test, we carefully select specific content to master. If we need to refresh plane geometry, but algebra is relatively strong, we really hone in on the geometry, especially because we know that there will be 14 questions out of 60 on plane geometry on the test!

Praxis

I completed all sections of the Praxis 1 test, with a perfect score in math, near-perfect in reading, and earned a 5.5 of a possible 6 on the writing portion.

I have also taken two of the Praxis 2 tests, math and general science. I scored in the top 10% in science, earning me a Certificate of Excellence from ETS.
