Hello! My name is Nancy and I am a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. Right now, however, I am not working and would like to start tutoring. I have written at least 100 essays, papers, journals, compositions and discussion question answers. I have tutored online and would do so again though I prefer to do so face to face. My reason for this is that writing requires a great deal of editing, proofreading, organizing, much of which is time consuming. Being that for a lot of people writing is a daunting task, much more can be accomplished in an hour face to face than online.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and am a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I am experienced at APA Style only. I apologize, but my knowledge of MLA is limited. The writing itself is the same but documentation of references and formatting is different. I am willing to take a stab at MLA and would lower my rate to 35.00/hour being that I am not as experienced with the MLA Style. My experience is working with adults but I am confident I can tutor all age groups.
Some other things that I can tutor in are spelling, basic elementary math, and GED preparation.
I love helping people and truly believe in the successes of others. I do give assignments and do have expectations that they will be completed and that you believe in doing your best. I can not promise you an A, but I promise that I will give you all the tools you need to help yourself get one.
