I am a patient, knowledgeable, and experienced tutoring in a wide range of subjects. One-stop shopping!
My goal as a tutor is to help each student to succeed and gain confidence in his or her academic skills. Through patience, lesson plans tailored to individual needs, kindness, the ability to connect with all ages quickly, and a sense of humor, my students set and reach their goals. As a certificated teacher in secondary education, with my Master's degree in Teaching, I continually learn more about my profession and the subjects I teach. Currently, I work successfully with students with different learning styles such as ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, and dyslexia as well as with gifted students. Because I have worked with a variety of ages and learning styles, I am able to create lessons to fit each student's needs.
Experience tutoring grade six through university level and adults means that I can relate to your student quickly and adjust the level of the lesson to meet his or her learning needs. I am certified in Washington to teach English and Language Arts, and I am a highly qualified teacher in Political Science, History (U.S., World, Washington State,) and, Humanities, and Social Studies. I also teach creative and academic writing. Art History, and study skills. Please see my profile for a complete list of my WyzAnt subjects.
Test preparation for the language arts related sections of the PSAT, SAT and ACT is another area of expertise for me. When teaching, I can combine two subjects in a tutoring session or I can tutor your student in several subjects over several individual sessions. This breadth and depth of knowledge makes me a virtual one-stop shop for your tutoring needs.
Cancellations must be made via WyzAnt e-mail at least 24 hours before the scheduled tutoring session. If the cancellation is made later than that, I will charge your WyzAnt account for the full time scheduled for that lesson. Exceptions may be made for true emergencies or sudden illnesses.
